We know that the word “church” can bring up a wide range of thoughts and emotions for different people. So when you’re investigating churches, there might be a few key points you want to know before you ever step through the door:
• What’s the music going to be like?
• How does everyone dress?
• Am I going to be singled out as a newcomer and made to feel awkward?
• What does this church preach and believe?
• What’s available for my kids, and will they be safe?
Here at Parkside, we acknowledge that attending any church for the first time can be a little scary. We want to set your mind at ease by answering the questions you might be asking.
Our music ranges from pensive and thought-provoking to upbeat and exhilarating. Sometimes we use a band, and sometimes we have more of an acoustic service. We do contemporary choruses and old hymns. Our main focus is to help you forget the week behind you and just come before the Lord in heartfelt worship. To keep things from getting stale, we do something a little different each week as we bring God our best worship.
Most people don’t dress too fancy, but you can come however you feel comfortable. We just don’t focus on the outward appearance. We’re more concerned about how you’re doing on the inside than what you look like.
We’ll never single you out because you’re a guest. We hope you’ll feel warmly welcomed, though. If you have any questions during the morning, find one of our greeters. They’ll be happy to help you. Find one of our hospitality staff with the plastic lanyard to answer any of your questions. We’re a Bible-teaching church. We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and that God communicates to us through this amazing book. Read our doctrinal statement here.
We have great classes for kids. If you have a child ages 0-3, you’ll retrieve your child from the nursery area knowing that they were cared for and prayed for. The older toddlers learn exciting Bible stories and verses.
Children between age 4 and 5th grade check in to their classes at the tree house. Identical lessons taught both hours by the most caring of staff.
We background-check every worker and use a secure matching tag check-in/check-out system to make sure your child is safe. If your child has food allergies, please alert our staff upon check-in so we can take extra precautions during the morning to ensure your child’s safety. For more on children’s ministry, see our Children’s Ministries page.
If you have a mid-higher or high schooler, they’ll enjoy the main service with you. Youth group meets each Sunday night at 6:00 p.m. See our Youth Ministries page for more information.
This website may be entitled “About Us,” but it’s really about you. We’ll go the extra mile to see that you’re ministered to. Pick up a complimentary cup of coffee and bring it in to the service. Sit wherever you like. If you’re a guest, we never ask you to contribute to the offering—just give us as much or as little information about yourself as you’re comfortable with. The only thing we ask is that you set your cell phone to vibrate so you can enjoy the morning uninterrupted.
After your visit, feel free to fill out our online questionnaire and let us know how your morning went!
